What kind of dog (counting mixes and mutts) gets your vote as the champion of dogs?

Hands down it's the Labrador Retriever. There have been several in my family through the years and they are all wonderful campanions. The current Lab in my life is Princess Nittany. (Seen here napping on HER couch). Nittany was rescued by my nieces and nephews after her previous owner literally threw her away when she was just 4 months old. We've had her for almost 10 years and I wouldn't trade her for all of the gold in Fort Knox. I'm definately a dog person and there are a lot of great breeds out there. But I seriously don't see myself ever being owned by any other breed.

There are a lot of things we see most often in December, like caroling, potato latkes, mistletoe, mulled wine, eggnog, and returning gifts. What's your favorite holiday tradition?
Bayberry Candles. My Mom always had one burning on Christmas & the scent was incredible. They seem to be hard to find these days. But whenever I'm lucky enough to find them I'm always reminded of Mom and home and Christmas from long ago.

RIP John Lennon. The list of sudden and unexpected celebrity deaths is long—Princess Di, Heath Ledger, Kurt Cobain, Marilyn Monroe, and many more. Which one affected you the most on an emotional level?
Without a doubt it is was John Lennon's death. I still remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news. It was a very sad day indeed. I've visited Strawberry Fields in Central Park on many occasions.

Alhough it wasn't really untimely; the celebrity death that really broke my heart was John Wayne's. "The Duke" lived a long and storied life. But he was so much larger than life & I was so sad to see him go.

There are a few concerts that go down in musical history—Altamont, Woodstock, Live Aid, the Hannah Montana Best of Both Worlds tour—as legendary experiences. What live show stands as legend in your own experience?
I haven't been to many concerts. But I had the honor of seeing Tina Turner perform live way back in the '80's. She put on one hell of a show even though she was not feeling well at the time.  Hannah Montana legendary? Please give me a break!!

I just found out that my beloved Joe Paterno had hip replacement surgery today.  Anybody that knows me knows what this man means to me. He's not just a football coach. He's an icon the likes of which we will NEVER see again.  Get well soon Joe...we need you on the sideline in the Rose Bowl and then for years to come in Beaver Stadium.

30 Rock returns to television today. Should Tina Fey's striking resemblance to Gov. Palin become part of this season's storyline?
The election is Tuesday. I say the sooner we can forget Sarah Palin the better off we'll all be.
